Fusion can be ‘Customised’ !!

Oracle Fusion Applications were first released in 2011. They represent a suite of enterprise applications that combine the best features and functions from Oracle’s acquired applications, including Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, and Siebel, into a single, standards-based platform. The Fusion Applications are designed to leverage modern technologies such as cloud computing, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and business intelligence (BI).

In the initial days, word was that there was very little (if any) possibility of customizing the Product since most components reside Server Side & would be hosted by Oracle. Client side hosting was possible, but very rare.

Recently I came across a post on LinkedIn which details the various ways Fusion can be customised. I have used a few of them over the course of my career – but I did not know that we have such a varied level of possibilities.

I have personally used an approach for complex functional requirements – wherein data from Fusion is evaluated, a decision taken & changes made to the data ( hint.. involves OTBI, SOA & OIC – it gets the job done – but with a lag.)
